These are estimates, not quotes. Two homes of the same size can differ considerably depending on condition, pets, and how much needs tidying before cleaning can start.
Hourly or fixed price?
Home cleaning is usually sold as a subscription, either hourly or at a fixed amount per visit. A recurring contract almost always carries a lower hourly rate than isolated visits, because the company can plan its route.
Deep cleaning and move-out cleaning more often carry a fixed price, frequently based on square metres, since the scope can be assessed in advance.
A fixed price per visit is usually safest for you: you know the cost, and the company carries the risk if it takes longer than expected.
How much RUT saves you
RUT is 50 percent of the labour cost, up to 75,000 SEK per person per year (Skatteverket). The company applies it directly on the invoice, so you pay half.
Worked example for a fortnightly subscription:

What is included, and what costs extra
A standard home cleaning subscription normally covers vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting accessible surfaces, the bathroom and kitchen at surface level, and emptying bins.
Common extras:
- Window cleaning
- Oven and appliances inside
- Inside cupboards and wardrobes
- Balcony and glazed terrace
- Ironing
- Bed changing and laundry
Supplies: many companies bring mops, cloths and detergents, though some expect you to provide a vacuum cleaner. If materials are billed separately they do not qualify for RUT and must appear on their own line.
How payment works
The norm is an invoice after the work is done, often with around 20 days to pay, sometimes as an e-invoice or direct debit for subscriptions.
Check the invoice itemises the labour cost. Materials and call-out fees earn no deduction, so if everything is combined on one line there is no way to see what RUT was calculated on.
The company must hold approved F-skatt, or the deduction is lost entirely.
Quality guarantee
Reputable companies usually offer a one to two day guarantee on deep cleaning and move-out cleaning, returning to put things right at no extra cost. For recurring home cleaning it is normally enough to raise the issue within a day.

Two ways to lose the deduction
Paying cash. Since 2020, ROT and RUT require electronic payment: card, Swish, BankID or a bank transfer. Cash means the deduction is lost entirely, however properly the work was done.
